Hikvision NVR 5.0 image flip

A new camera was added to a Hikvision DS-7716NI-M4/16P NVR installed on a client site. The image was inverted and needed to be flipped - a trivial task on an NVR… except the option wasn’t present.

To make life harder, the NVR was also not allowing remote connections on HTTP or iVMS.

On the local display, the NVR reported to be on the latest firmware (from 2024). I always check online for new firmware with Hikvision as I’ve seen issues with collecting FW in the past.

Firmware_V5.04.087_260727 provides an on-screen image flip option now in the device settings.

The issue with no HTTP / iVMS connection being possible (even though the video streams work) is still ongoing, but that can be tackled another time.
